Traditionally, Feng Shui is a Chinese term which means “wind and water” that describes harmony in an individual's environment with Qi, through the arrangement of furniture, objects, or even building. “Qi” is described as energy that is believed to flow through everything. Similarly, Feng Shui is a digital video piece that focuses on the alignment of the mind, body, and soul. A story that is told through found media that describes one's mind, lost in chaos and clutter, and their path to alignment. In this piece, Feng Shui is taking that idea of energy in one's surroundings and translating it into one's inner being.The idea that one's mind, body, and soul can stay disrupted and unaligned with their energy for an indefinite amount of time is the main reason that some experience forms of “block”. This can be through their creative outlet, a work environment, or even in a relationship. The idea of Feng Shui can be the solution for those disrupted souls, to realign their energy.
Jared Andrade is a Digital Media Arts Major from San Jose State University who works primarily with digital illustration, video editing, and 3D modeling. He takes inspiration from various contemporary pop artists such as Takashi Murakami, Brian Donnelly, and Moya Garrison-Msingwana. These artists helped Jared grow his artistic ability through their creative expansion in the digital media realm. Through Jared’s work, he aims to utilize his talents to fulfill his dreams of designing fashion, and overall, expressing his emotions.
