RECOLLECTION is a short-form video that takes viewers on a nostalgic ride across four transformative decades: the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s. The piece follows a central character as they “surf” through time, shifting environments with seamless transitions that reflect the evolving aesthetics, mood, and cultural moments of each era. This project explores memory as an ever-changing force—fluid, unpredictable, and deeply human. Each decade is stylized with iconic fashion, music, and visual textures that have come to define those years. The character's clothing shifts to reflect the popular trends of each time, inspired by the way past styles continuously resurface in the present day. Whether using a camcorder or editing digital footage to replicate older aesthetics, each shot is carefully crafted to evoke its respective decade. As a videographer, I see video as a bridge between past, present, and future—a way to preserve fleeting moments and relive them again and again. This work reflects that impulse: to remember, to feel, to exist. RECOLLECTION is not just a timeline—it's a visual love letter to memory itself, inviting viewers to revisit what once was and feel the resonance of who we've become.
