The Final Piece

Artist Statement

"The Final Piece", a short 3D animation, initially became a technical challenge of whether I was able to recreate scenes and visuals from real life. Inspired by scenery such as ocean windmills, basalt columns in Alaska, and the sun hitting the surface of the ocean while being underwater. I explore the thought of “How much do you love someone or something, and how much are you willing to sacrifice for them?” Additionally, the film subtly reflects on humanity's future. Our impact on Earth, the potential rise of sentient artificial intelligence, and the possibility of a world where only the robots we created remain.

Artist Biography

Clarence Hoang was born in San Jose, California, in 2000. His passion for visual storytelling began with an appreciation for cinematic scenes and B-roll in films and YouTube videos. Clarence’s work is deeply influenced by nature, architecture, and the world's beauty. Before delving into animation, he honed his cinematography skills through travel filmmaking, capturing the essence of destinations like the Caribbean, New York, Greece, and Italy.
