About the Artist

Beckett Van Leer is a character designer and illustrator born in Santa Clara and currently based in the Bay Area. With their time at SJSU, they have expanded their skills in traditional mediums while also learning about and transitioning into digital technologies such as 3D sculpting, printing, animation; digital video; and digital illustration. Van Leer has taken their love of sculpting with clay and applying it to digital 3D mediums. Their aim with 3D printing is to create an interactive product that merges visual aesthetics with curiosity and excitement.

Anatomiis: Journey Within

Embark on an inward journey! Anatomiis: Journey Within is a blind box series that reflect my personal intrigue with bones and anatomy. Ever since I got into collecting blind box figures, I’ve wanted to create my own. This series personifies my emotions, traits, and experiences through storytelling and creepy and dystopian imagery. I love the excitement and anticipation that comes from the mystery and surprise of a blind box. I want to evoke that same emotion in my viewers. I seek creating and sparking joy in others through my art. Overall, this collection highlights my love for art, art making, and mixed media.
