Over the course of the past 5 years, Nicholas Cappelloni led a team of individuals in creating a unique themed experience aimed at bringing themed entertainment around the world. This project was a virtual recreation of the entire Disneyland Resort, accessible via Minecraft on the computer. The creation got exponentially more popular during the COVID-19 pandemic, and since then has been a playground to push the limits of what the game is capable of as well as experiment with new artistic ideas and technologies. Funneling his Digital Media Art experience, he implemented new ideas such as using Blender to animate and control ride systems across the virtual park. The goal of all of this was to give an accessible way for people across the globe to experience the world of theme parks. This VR piece gives viewers the chance to step inside some of the most impressive landscapes he and his team were able to create in their time working on the project.
