This piece was inspired by a cave tubing trip I went on with my family. After leaving the entrance and then being enveloped by this large vast darkness I was overcome with this feeling that I was a little creature in this world. Unimportant and important at the same time and my fellows in the cave were just the same. All different in appearance and thought but all of us caught in this journey through this cave and life together, somewhere between birth and death. My goal for this piece was to capture some of the sentiments I held while I was in that place physically and mentally. To do that this work was created and modeled using a combination of 2d and 3d software and displayed using a virtual reality headset. My hope is that I can share my experience with the viewer and that they get something out of it. Each creature in this scene has been created to be unique to highlight the diverseness of each life and ways that we all get along. The title a small wondering is meant to represent the journey or the “wandering” we all go through till we meet our end.
