VASQUEZ
Artist Statement
VASQUEZ is a story of vices. The indulgence of self interest, and the cost of it. From my own life, I recall the naivety that once filled my world. As a kid the only thing that mattered was my own interests, and VASQUEZ explores that idea. An exaggerated presentation, but one that answers my own curiosity. Through the means of 3-D animation in Blender, I chose to push how far a person will go to satisfy their desire. Even if that initial spark came from childhood ignorance.

| Bio | Eddie Martinez is a Bay Area based artist, creating digital works for the past 5 years. Preferring the flexibility of Photoshop he makes digital collages and illustrations in the program. With his ever accumulating interest, he takes the experiences from his years as the foundation of his work. His appreciation for his life seeps into the artwork he produces, resulting in pieces that reflect the view of the world he has. Choosing to indulge in these programs, he has spent his studies learning what Photoshop can do in and out. The versatility of the program paves the way for the spontaneity found in Martinez’s work. From utilizing assets found on the web, to one's draw onto the screen. There is very little stopping him once he has invested into a project. |
